Roving With Perseverance: See NASA Mars Rover and Ingenuity Helicopter Models on U.S. Tour

Utilizing its WATSON camera, NASAs Perseverance Mars rover took this selfie over a rock nicknamed “Rochette,” on Sept. 10, 2021, the 198th Martian day, or sol, of the mission. While NASAs Perseverance rover and Ingenuity Mars Helicopter are difficult at work exploring Mars hundreds of millions of miles from Earth, their “twin” designs will be visiting museums as part of the “Roving With Perseverance” roadshow. As big as a vehicle, with its electronic camera “head” rising high, Perseverances six-wheeled lookalike towers over the majority of visitors, while Ingenuitys double highlights simply how small the history-making rotorcraft is. In addition to the spacecraft designs, NASA Perseverance and Ingenuity engineers and scientists will give in-person and virtual talks and address concerns at numerous museums. The in-person occasions will consist of live activities at three locations to coincide with the one-year anniversary of Perseverance landing on Mars.

Capture Mars mania as a traveling display gos to more than a dozen towns throughout the U.S. with lifelike designs of NASAs Perseverance rover and Ingenuity helicopter.
While NASAs Perseverance rover and Ingenuity Mars Helicopter are hard at work exploring Mars hundreds of millions of miles from Earth, their “twin” models will be visiting museums as part of the “Roving With Perseverance” roadshow. As big as a vehicle, with its cam “head” rising high, Perseverances six-wheeled lookalike towers over most visitors, while Ingenuitys double highlights just how little the history-making rotorcraft is. The tour begins in October at locations on the East and West Coasts, then works its way inland.
Considering that landing on Mars on Feb. 18, 2021, Perseverance has been searching for signs of ancient microscopic life in order to gather and store samples of Martian rock and sediment to be recovered by organized future objectives for closer research study on Earth. After riding to Mars on Perseverances belly, the Ingenuity helicopter has finished more than a dozen short flights, not only proving that powered, managed flight is possible on Mars, but even assisting scout prospective places for Perseverance to check out.

In addition to the spacecraft designs, NASA Perseverance and Ingenuity engineers and researchers will offer in-person and virtual talks and answer questions at numerous museums. The in-person events will include live activities at 3 venues to correspond with the one-year anniversary of Perseverance landing on Mars.
All the museums are members of NASAs Museum and Informal Education Alliance.
Those who do not live near one of the trip stops, or who prefer to take part remotely, will have the ability to sign up with live virtual events.

More About the Mission.
A key goal for Perseverances objective on Mars is astrobiology, consisting of the look for signs of ancient microbial life. The rover will identify the worlds geology and previous environment, lead the way for human expedition of the Red Planet, and be the very first mission to gather and cache Martian rock and regolith (broken rock and dust).
Subsequent NASA objectives, in cooperation with ESA (European Space Agency), would send out spacecraft to Mars to collect these sealed samples from the surface and return them to Earth for thorough analysis.
The Mars 2020 Perseverance objective belongs to NASAs Moon to Mars exploration technique, which consists of Artemis objectives to the Moon that will help get ready for human exploration of the Red Planet.
JPL, which is managed for NASA by Caltech in Pasadena, California, constructed and handles operations of the Perseverance rover.
