Hilton evolves Honors app to allow key sharing to multiple devices

Sharing of digital keys across numerous devices is now possible in the Hilton Formality smartphone app as part of a suite of upgrades designed at enhancing the visitor experience.

Hilton Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Chris Silcock, stated the company has always had its guests at the heart of everything it does.

The key sharing function works by a primary visitor sending an invitation to as much as four fellow traveler, who must each likewise have the Hilton Honors app and an active account in the commitment program.

Sharing secrets is a simple procedure and needs all devices to have the Hilton Honors app.

Additional enhancements to the app consist of the capability for advance verification of complimentary room upgrades subject to schedule. For qualified Gold and Diamond members of Hilton Honors, members getting a space upgrade will be informed of the change 72 hours prior to arrival, enabling the guest to then choose their particular room ahead of arrival.

The current upgrades to the app come following the companys introduction previously this year of the Confirmed Connecting Rooms functionality which permits bookings of several spaces to confirm interconnecting rooms ahead of time to make sure families or groups can remain together.
