Shaftesbury commemorates an effective Seven Dials Winter Festival, a three-day shopping, dining and cultural event that occurred over the weekend from 19th-21st November, in the heart of Londons West End.
The Winter Festival included on-street entertainment and creative workshops such as traditional brass bands, gospel choirs, along with complimentary glitter stations and wreath making. There was also a pop-up pantomime, plus live music, spoken word artists and illustrators all dotted around the locations well-known cobbled streets. Visitors were able to delight in mulled white wine carts, hot chocolate stations and joyful food all matched by the festive light installation and in-store offers from Seven Dials independent and flagship brands.

An interactive charity contribution point and light installation had likewise been produced at the Neals Yard Festive Arch on Monmouth Street to add extra sparkle to the joyful lights throughout December. All contributions go towards supporting our regional, younger generation, through the Young Camden Foundation, over the festive duration and by addressing complicated and longstanding problems, such as digital hardship, youth security, and mental health.
The weekend line-up was headlined with looks from culinary professional and TV character Gizzi Erskine (@gizzierskine), who offered a masterclass in combination with the special hotdog-style doughnut brand– Longboys– on Saturday. Body confidence advocate and business owner, AlexLight (@alexlight_ldn) took the reins on Sunday and hosted a podcast in the freshly refurbished Donmar theatre.
Karen Baines, Head of Group Marketing and Communications at Shaftesbury, commented: “This years yearly Seven Dials Christmas event was particularly important as it was an opportunity to provide a safe and inviting place in the heart of Londons West End and formally celebrate the start of the joyful period, something we were not able to do in 2015. This is the very first time we extended our events to a three-day occasion and over a whole weekend– a decision we made particularly to benefit our variety of visitors, including the growing regional tourism and theatre-goers alike, offering more time to enjoy and experience the offerings and immersive activations available within Seven Dials. It has actually been wonderful, as constantly, to collaborate with the community, sellers and dining establishments, and making this years Winter Festival a truth and to invite visitors, old and new to Seven Dials.”
