NASAs Ingenuity helicopter does not run Apache or log4j nor is it prone to the log4j vulnerability. NASA takes cybersecurity very seriously and, for this reason, they do not go over specifics relating to the cybersecurity of firm assets.
The interruption in data communications in between the Ingenuity helicopter and the base station on the Perseverance rover during Flight 17 took place when the signal was blocked by elevated surface in between the 2 as Ingenuity descended at the end of the flight. Successfully, Ingenuity “flew behind a hill” or out of the rovers line of vision, briefly interrupting high-speed interactions between the two spacecraft.
