The crawler-transporter, driven by engineers, will move under the Artemis I stack atop the mobile launcher and carry it to Launch Complex 39B for a wet gown practice session test ahead of the Artemis I introduce. Now it is ready to head back to Launch Pad 39B for the Artemis I damp gown practice session.
The crawler will go inside the VAB, where it will move under the Artemis I Space Launch System with the Orion spacecraft atop on the mobile launcher and carry it to Launch Complex 39B for a wet gown wedding rehearsal test ahead of the Artemis I release.
The four-mile trek will take around 8-12 hours to get to the launch pad, after which the spider transporter will make its method back down the pad surface area and rest outside the pad gate.
Engineers will then connect the rocket and spacecraft to the ground systems and carry out check-outs in preparation for the tanking test, prepared for around 2 weeks after the rocket arrives back at the pad.

At approximately 12:10 a.m. EDT on June 6 (9:10 p.m. PDT on June 5), NASAs Artemis I Moon rocket began its journey from Kennedy Space Centers Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB). Poised atop its crawler transporter, the Space Launch System rocket and Orion spacecraft will make the 4-mile journey to release pad 39B to undergo the next wet gown practice session test attempt.
The very first rollout of the Artemis I rocket started on March 17, 2022, and it came to the launch pad for the very first time on March 18. After three different attempts at sustaining the SLS rocket ended without effective conclusion, the rocket was evacuated and departed the launch pad to be carried back to the Vehicle Assembly Building. Now it is prepared to head back to Launch Pad 39B for the Artemis I damp gown rehearsal.
The crawler will go inside the VAB, where it will slide under the Artemis I Space Launch System with the Orion spacecraft atop on the mobile launcher and bring it to Launch Complex 39B for a damp gown practice session test ahead of the Artemis I introduce. Artemis I will be the first incorporated test of the SLS and Orion spacecraft.
Groups successfully completed all significant scheduled goals recognized throughout the previous damp gown wedding rehearsal efforts, along with some forward work previously planned for after the tanking test. The removal of the final set of platforms was finished on June 3, with the crawler transporter sitting below the enormous rocket, spacecraft, and mobile launcher.
