The repeating patterns of isotopes in the tusk recommended the animal traveled terrific distances on a routine basis, especially once it struck their adult years. Based on the isotopes present when it passed away, the scientists deduced that the animal was at its breeding premises, and presumably lost its life combating for a mate.
