Earth systems designs see the world as a complex web of interactions in between several forces. Natural water products are important to both farmers and operators of power plants. The choices made by farmers and powerplant operators, in turn, affect streams and rivers.
Multi-sector Dynamics Modeling (MSD) is used by scientists to explore the interactions and interdependencies among human and natural systems. These systems are adaptive and intricate. They co-evolve and connect in reaction to short-term shocks as well as long-lasting influences and stresses. Interactions occur at everywhere from regional to global scales and influences frequently move throughout scales. Interactions throughout these systems frequently respond in non-linear ways to stresses. These systems can experience cascading effects or failures after crossing tipping points.
By improving our understanding of interrelated systems, we much better understand the possible trajectories, vulnerabilities, reactions, and durability of those systems. This would also assist us better understand the structure, function, and development of the complex human-environmental landscapes that embody these systems.
