Webb Captures New Image of the Cartwheel Galaxy
NASAs James Webb Space Telescope produced this brand-new in-depth picture of the Cartwheel Galaxy and two smaller sized galaxies. The Cartwheel Galaxy, which is located about 500 million light-years from us, is an unusual type of galaxy that astronomers call a “ring galaxy.” It is thought that the Cartwheel Galaxy used to be a typical spiral galaxy like our Milky Way prior to an accident with another galaxy affected the Cartwheel Galaxys shape and structure.
