NASA and SpaceX are targeting no earlier than 1:45 a.m. EST on Monday, February 27, 2023, for the launch of the firms Crew-5 objective to the International Space Station (ISS).
The four Crew-6 crewmates– Commander Stephen Bowen, Pilot Warren “Woody” Hoburg, Mission Specialist UAE (United Arab Emirates) astronaut Sultan Alneyadi, and Mission Specialist Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev– will dock the Dragon spacecraft, named Endeavour, to the forward port on the space stations Harmony module about 23 hours after liftoff.
Crew-6s science objective includes advanced research targeted at keeping astronauts and spacecraft safe during deep area expedition, and studies that could result in better medical treatments for people back in the world. Experiments will include research studies of how specific materials burn in microgravity, tissue chip research study on cartilage, brain, and heart functions, and an examination that will gather microbial samples from the beyond the spaceport station. These are simply some of the more than 200 science experiments and technology presentations that will occur throughout their objective.
The Crew-6 launch will carry two NASA astronauts, Mission Commander Stephen Bowen and Pilot Warren “Woody” Hoburg, together with UAE (United Arab Emirates) astronaut Sultan Alneyadi, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev, who will serve as mission professionals to the spaceport station for a science expedition objective.
