Cosmonauts Begin Spacewalk To Move Roscosmos Radiator on Space Station

The duo is imagined tethered to the Rassvet module with the Soyuz MS-22 team ship docked at top. It is the 3rd spacewalk at the station in 2023 and the 260th spacewalk for space station assembly, upkeep, and upgrades.
NASA Flight Engineers Frank Rubio and Stephen Bowen worked together Tuesday cleaning up the Cell Biology Experiment Facility (CBEF) situated in the Kibo lab module. The spacesuit work is being done in advance of a spacewalk prepared for Friday, April 28, to continue updating the stations power generation capability.

While all 3 cosmonauts rested, the orbital stations 4 astronauts were busy with science and spacesuit deal with Tuesday. The foursome split its time throughout the day keeping science hardware, studying how microgravity impacts their eyes and brain, and cleaning spacesuits.
NASA Flight Engineers Frank Rubio and Stephen Bowen worked together Tuesday tidying up the Cell Biology Experiment Facility (CBEF) situated in the Kibo laboratory module. The CBEF housed biological samples that were gone back to Earth inside the SpaceX Dragon freight craft a number of hours after it undocked from the station at 11:05 a.m. Saturday. Those samples and more will be examined by scientists on Earth to continue discovering how living in weightlessness impacts the human body.
Rubio later on took a look at the KERMIT fluorescence microscope that supports biology, physics, and materials research. Bowen signed up with NASA Flight Engineer Woody Hoburg at the end of the day for eye tests that are part of the ISAFE study that measures blood, eye, and brain vessel changes in area.
Hoburg started his day examining cooling loops and gathering water samples from inside an Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU), or spacesuit. UAE (United Arab Emirates) Flight Engineer Sultan Alneyadi continued the EMU upkeep as he recharged and filled water tanks in the suits. The spacesuit work is being done in advance of a spacewalk prepared for Friday, April 28, to continue upgrading the stations power generation capability.

Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitri Petelin leave the Poisk modules airlock to start a spacewalk at 9:40 p.m. EDT (6:40 p.m. PDT) to transfer a radiator from the Rassvet module to the Nauka science module with support from European robotic arm operator cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev. Protection of the spacewalk advances NASA Television, the NASA app, and the firms site.
Prokopyev is using an Orlan spacesuit with red stripes, while Petelin is wearing the suit with blue stripes. This is the 4th spacewalk in Prokopyevs profession, and the second for Petelin. It is the third spacewalk at the station in 2023 and the 260th spacewalk for spaceport station assembly, maintenance, and upgrades.

Prior to the spacewalk, the Expedition 69 cosmonauts spent the day sleeping to rest up for the logistics spacewalk. On the other hand, the rest of the International Space Station crew continued cleansing biology research hardware, conducted an eye and brain study, and serviced a pair of spacesuits.
