ISS Crew Tackles Spacesuit Maintenance, Eye Exams, and Human Research

. The duo spent Wednesday inside Poisk setting up their Orlan spacesuits for the prepared six-plus-hour spacewalk. They examined the fits for leakages, then installed batteries, helmet video cameras, and other communications gear on the Orlans. Prokopyev and Petelin coordinated the suit consult objective controllers ensuring the matches were in operating condition and fit information was being received on the ground.
NASA Flight Engineer Stephen Bowen and Frank Rubio dealt with a set of different spacesuits, the Extravehicular Mobility Units (EMUs), deconfiguring them for stowage in the Quest airlock. The 2 astronauts took turns discarding water and cleaning cooling loops inside the 2 EMUs that were used by Bowen and UAE (United Arab Emirates) astronaut Sultan Alneyadi during a spacewalk on April 28.
Alneyadi and NASA Flight Engineer Woody Hoburg partnered together throughout Wednesday servicing station module hatches and power supply systems. Hoburg moved on and installed an antenna power supply system with its 2 power cable televisions inside the Tranquility module.
Roscosmos Flight Engineer Andrey Fedyaev conducted two different human research study experiments on Wednesday. For the very first experiment, Fedyaev connected sensors to himself and then rested while his heart activity was taped to comprehend high blood pressure in microgravity. For his 2nd experiment, Fedyaev used a cap with electrodes that monitored his responses while practicing simulated spacecraft or robotic piloting strategies for future planetary objectives on a computer system.

Leader Sergey Prokopyev and Flight Engineer Dmitri Petelin are getting ready for their third spacewalk together because April set to begin on Friday. They will exit the Poisk airlock at 11:55 a.m. EDT in their Orlan spacesuits and translate towards the Nauka science module to deploy and trigger a radiator they set up throughout a previous spacewalk on April 19.
