The space station team is preparing the ISS for four incoming Axiom Mission-2 astronauts who are scheduled to launch via SpaceX Falcon 9 and Dragon Freedom. The preparations consist of station equipment configuration and life science experiments. Ongoing research studies on the ISS are examining microgravitys impact on human physiology, amongst other scientific endeavors.
The Expedition 69 team members continue preparing the International Space Station (ISS) for the arrival of 4 private astronauts early next week. On the other hand, the orbital residents also stayed focused on their life science activities and laboratory maintenance jobs.
The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, with the Dragon Freedom crew ship connected, rolled out to its launch pad at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Thursday early morning. Former NASA astronaut and Ax-2 Commander Peggy Whitson will lead novice area leaflets Pilot John Shoffner and Mission Specialists Ali Alqarni and Rayyanah Barnawi aboard Dragon throughout its area flight.

Two station flight engineers spent a part of Thursday configuring station devices to support the 4 Ax-2 crew members during their stay aboard the orbital laboratory. NASA astronaut Stephen Bowen staged and gathered emergency situation hardware on midday Thursday to accommodate the extra astronauts and their Dragon vehicle. UAE (United Arab Emirates) astronaut Sultan Alneyadi moved a station computer system from the Kibo lab module to the Harmony module for Ax-2 team use.

Bowen would go on and work the rest of the day inside the Destiny laboratory module servicing life assistance equipment that cools station hardware and turns down heat utilizing water loops. Alneyadi charged batteries, eliminated elements, and practiced setting up jetpacks on the Extravehicular Mobility Units, or spacesuits, in preparation for upcoming spacewalks.
NASA Flight Engineer Frank Rubio worked inside the Kibo lab installing protein crystal research study hardware and a centrifuge supporting life science and physics research. NASA astronaut Woody Hoburg concluded the checkout and activation of the Treadmill 2 in the Tranquility module following its inspection and cleansing earlier in the week.
Leader Sergey Prokopyev joined Flight Engineer Dmitri Petelin after breakfast for ultrasound scans of their stomachs to comprehend microgravitys affect on the food digestion process. Roscosmos Flight Engineer Andrey Fedyaev attached sensing units to himself recording his heart activity while pedaling on an exercise cycle for a fitness assessment. Fedyaev that partnered with Prokopyev at the end of the day moving freight from the ISS Progress 83 resupply ship docked to the Zvezda service modules aft port.
