Around 1 in 5 children in the US are taking melatonin for sleeping — and it’s not even clear if it works

The researchers cautioned that the security and efficacy data about the products is still limited as they arent completely controlled by the Fda (FDA).

Melatonin, a hormonal agent created in the brain as a response to darkness, functions as a signal that its time to sleep.
