As a teacher of physics and astronomy at Dartmouth College, Gleiser started a course he explains as “physics for poets,” which stresses humanistic elements of science for non-physics majors. A ravenous reader of science books and articles, he wrote his first science book, The Dancing Universe: From Creation Myths to the Big Bang, in 1997 as a text for this course and has because authored a number of more award-winning nonfiction books. “I always felt the requirement to share the lovely things Ive found out in science with the basic public since I put science on the very same level as art,” Gleiser states. In October 2020, she enrolled in a yearlong science interaction masters program at the University of Manchester and started freelancing for the UK branch of the biopharma marketing business AZoNetwork.
