The Sun Could Hurl Powerful Storms at Earth From its Goofy Smile

These dark patches are likewise understood as sunspots, which can reach around 3600 degrees Celsius (6500 degrees Fahrenheit), and are accountable for radiation-filled solar flares that can wreak havoc on a planet.
This phenomena is also known as space weather, and fortunately, our own world has a protective electromagnetic field that deflects the solar flares to both the north and south poles, leading to the lovely auroras seen by numerous. Even with this field, solar storms can in some cases be effective adequate to wreak havoc with both satellites and worldwide electrical grids, triggering communication delays and even blackouts.

Our Sun is the very factor were alive. It provides heat and the energy our world requires to keep going. Now you can add photogenic to its illustrious résumé, as NASA recently photographed our giant ball of nuclear blend doing something quite peculiar.

It turns out this isnt the very first time our Sun has actually made faces at us, as NASAs Solar Dynamics Observatory, or SDO, imaged the Sun portraying a jack-o-lanterns face back in October 2014, that made for a creepy pre-Halloween treat for astronomy enthusiasts.

In terms of size, our Sun is roughly 100 times larger than the Earth, indicating dozens of Earths could comfortably fit inside the Suns recent “smile”, which is a modest suggestion that while our Sun is accountable for both life and displaying familiar surface functions from time to time, it can also be accountable for enormous death and damage, as well.
Maybe our Sun smiling at us is a sign that it wants us to stick around for a while, however if we record it providing us a frown, then perhaps its time to panic.
