Finally! Here’s the Video of Webb’s Unboxing

JWST is preparing for its launch from an ESAs Spaceport in French Guiana. As part of that process, the telescope was shipped over the ocean through a specially designed container. That very same container was then filled onto a heavy load tractor-trailer, which then needed to browse the streets from Pariacabo harbor to the Spaceports cleanroom.

Its been a long time coming. Finally, after years of delays and billions of dollars in spending plan overruns, the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is all set to fly. To commemorate the occasion, ESA released a video revealing the “unboxing” of one of the most highly advanced technical accomplishments in human history. It is truly as excellent as it sounds.

That very same container was then filled onto a heavy load tractor-trailer, which then had to browse the streets from Pariacabo harbor to the Spaceports cleanroom.

The main ESA video of the JWST being moved into its flight setup.
As soon as in the cleanroom, over 100 specialists helped unpackage the system and load it onto a rig that set it upright– the configuration that it will be in when packed onto the Arianne 5 rocket that will take it on its journey to the L2 Lagrange point in less than 2 months. Even still crammed in its flight setup, the telescope looks spectacular, and the video really provides a sense of the scale of the telescope that some other media have lacked.
From the cleanroom, JWST will be loaded onto a rocket fairing and transported once again to the spaceport for launch. Now, this long-awaited addition to humankinds astronomy toolbox is finally, discernibly, on its way to space.
