On This Day in Space! Feb. 3, 2006: Astronauts toss ‘SuitSat’ off space station

On Feb. 3, 2006, astronauts at the International Space Station tossed an empty spacesuit into space all by itself … for science.Known as SuitSat, this empty spacesuit was equipped with a radio transmitter that would continuously transmit pre-recorded messages from researchers and students from around the world. A solitary, unmanned spacesuit drifts away from the International Space Station (ISS) throughout a Feb. 3, 2006 spacewalk. Still not adequate area?
