Additional safeguards have been added given that the start of the coronavirus pandemic. Anyone who will begin site or interact with the team throughout the quarantine duration will be screened for temperature and symptoms. NASA astronauts Kjell Lindgren, Bob Hines, and Jessica Watkins, and ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti, entered their official quarantine duration starting Thursday, April 7, in preparation for their flight to the International Space Station on NASAs SpaceX Crew-4 objective.
The procedure of flight team health stabilization is a routine part of last preparations for all missions to the spaceport station. Spending the last 2 weeks before liftoff in quarantine will help guarantee Crew-4 members are healthy and to safeguard the astronauts already on the area station.
If they are able to preserve quarantine conditions prior to take a trip to Kennedy, Crew members can select to quarantine at house. If quarantining at home is not possible– for example, if a home member cant maintain quarantine due to the fact that of task or school dedications– crew members have the choice of living in the Astronaut Quarantine Facility at Johnson Space Center till they leave for Kennedy Space.
