A dwarf planet is a celestial body that is in orbit around the Sun and has adequate mass to be nearly spherical in shape.
A dwarf planet is a celestial body that only fulfills 2 out of the 3 main requirements to be considered a world. Unlike a world, a dwarf world does not have enough gravitational pull to have actually cleared its area of any other celestial objects of considerable mass (other than for any of its satellites, such as a moon).
Pluto was reclassified from a planet to a dwarf planet in 2006 due to the fact that it is not gravitationally dominant in its community. Pluto does, nevertheless, have the distinction of being the first-ever acknowledged dwarf planet. There are presently 5 known celestial bodies in our Solar System that qualify as dwarf worlds: Pluto, Eris, Ceres, Makemake, and Haumea.

Hubble has supported the study of various dwarf worlds and their moons. The telescope has actually helped to improve our understanding of the Pluto system; Hubble observations in 2006 uncovered two small moons orbiting Pluto, Nix and Hydra, followed by the discoveries of 2 more moons in 2011 (Kerberos) and 2012 (Styx). In 2015, researchers collected all offered Hubble data on the four external moons of Pluto to analyze the system in more depth than ever before. You can find out more about Hubbles research study of the Pluto system in this Hubblecast video.

In 2016, Hubble caught an image of the dwarf planet Eris and its satellite Dysnomia. Eris is the most second-largest and massive known dwarf world in the Solar System. Also in 2016, Hubble exposed the very first moon ever discovered around the dwarf planet Makemake.
