Rice is among the worlds staple crops, and now we understand itll grow in space too. Astronauts on board Chinas Tiangong effectively grew 2 rice ranges in the Wentian space laboratory. Their experiment started in July with a routine range and a dwarf variety of rice. The tall variety grew 29 cm, and the dwarf variety grew 5 cm, which matches the quantity of growth they d reach in the world. Its not almost growing food in space; scientists will be studying any genetic mutations from remaining in microgravity and exposed to radiation.

This week Apple announced their brand-new iPhone 14 range of smart devices. The iPhone 14s Emergency SOS mode will send out messages through the Globalstar satellite network, meaning they can request help almost everywhere on Earth.

China Grows Rice in Space
