The places feature a selection of distinct designs. Lusail Stadium is the largest and will hold 80,000 viewers. It includes a gold exterior created to appear like standard hand-crafted bowls from the Arab and Islamic world.
Located in a part of the city known for pearl diving and fishing, the outside of Al Janoub Stadium, appears like the bottom of a boat. Situated near the airport, the circular Al Thumama Stadium, was developed to look like a gahfiya– the conventional woven cap worn by men and boys throughout the Middle East.
When the tournament is over, only Khalifa International Stadium will be utilized as the house of a football (soccer) team. The rest will be repurposed as hotels, community spaces, or smaller sized sporting facilities. When the World Cup is over, one place– Stadium 974– is made from 974 portable shipping containers and will be totally disassembled.
