New Research Shows That Hiring More Women Is Good for Business

” Grand Challenges” concentrate on the ways in which cross-disciplinary research can address the goals laid out in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Grand Challenges strands include Global Health, Sustainable Cities, Cultural Understanding, Human Wellbeing, Transformative Technology and Justice and Equality.

A brand-new study argues that small and medium business in emerging markets can resolve grand obstacles by leveraging tactical agility and gender diversity, with the latter considerably enhancing the impact of tactical dexterity on value development.
Research carried out by the University of Surrey reveals that senior management groups consisting of individuals from diverse gender backgrounds play an essential role in promoting collaborative and accountable innovation.
A study of medium-sized and little firms from emerging markets (ESMEs) found that having a gender-diverse senior management group is related to increased value and development that aligns with the United Nations Grand Challenges. This conclusion was based on an analysis of 228 survey actions from ESMEs in the United Arab Emirates.
Teacher Taz Rajwani, co-author of the study and Head of the Department of Strategy and International Business at the University of Surrey, said: “We discovered that firms that valued gender variety by using women in a few of their most senior roles were more able to react to the ever-changing economic environment and made important contributions to the UNs Sustainable Development Goals. This is yet more proof that having females as part of a companys senior management team is not only morally the ideal thing to do, but it is good for service and larger communities.”
