The previous 18 months have presented a variety of challenges for the hospitality market however, Michelin-starred restaurant LOasis seized the day as a chance to reinvent and revitalize their popular dining establishment, creating a new, immersive experience for restaurants.
Situated in the bay of Cannes, LOasis dates back to 1954 when Louis Outhier set out to create a prestigious dining organization, quickly notching up three Michelin stars. Committed to nourishing the senses as well as delighting the palate, Cenk Mikailoglu of Studio Ravn in Paris, was commissioned to re-imagine the dining establishment interiors, providing it a new lease of life. His vision was to plunge visitors into an intimate universe where modern and Provençal motivations, honorable and natural materials, masterpieces and the bewitching scents of the garden blend together effortlessly and the results did not dissatisfy. Vibrant modern artwork and soft green foliage supply the perfect setting for diners to delight in the ingenious cuisine at a leisurely pace for maximum satisfaction.

When it pertained to the lighting, Cenk turned to Jo Plismy at Gong. Lighting from Gongs Brass & & Metal Collection was picked for its stunning lattice work and magnificent golden interior, which diffuses a stylish soft light, best for dining. Large Tarya Ceiling Rectangles make a vibrant contemporary statement over gleaming glass cabinets oozing with scrumptious specials, while matching wall lights set the ideal environment for unwinding after the meal.
Jo Plismy, designer and owner of Gong comments “LOasis is an exceptional restaurant with a fascinating cooking history and we were delighted to be part of its reinvention. Cenk has actually done an outstanding task with the new interiors and our Tarya lights fit magnificently together with the stunning contemporary works of art and wonderful sculptures, which contrast with the neoclassical design of your house itself.”.

Jo continues “Lighting is terrific for developing varying environments and in a restaurant for instance, a very different feel for the breakfast and lunch break sittings might be desired, rather than the night service. Having dimmers can help with this and its essential to think about the quantity of natural light in the space and how it alters throughout the day. From an interior design element, lights can also be deemed pieces of art in their own right and bold styles, sculptural shapes and tactile textiles will offer interest to an interior decoration scheme, even when the light is shut off.”.
Gongs gorgeous Tarya lights utilized at LOasis are handcrafted from antique brass and matt black metal. Also offered in the Tarya Collection are matching table lamps, flooring lights, and square or round pendants, making it easy to create a stunning, seamless lighting plan.
